Stopping power of fission fragments in thin Mylar and nickel foils
نویسندگان
چکیده
The energy loss of heavy ions in thin Mylar and nickel foils was measured accurately using fission fragments from 239Pu(nth,f), mass separated by the Lohengrin separator at ILL. detection setup, placed focal plane enabled to measure precisely kinetic difference selected after passing through sample. From these data, stopping powers layers were extracted compared calculations. Whereas large deviations are observed with SRIM-2013 for Mylar, fairly good agreements obtained semi-empirical approach Knyazheva et al. (2006) calculations contained within DPASS database. In nickel, model agreement our data about 10%, while DPASS. We used provide updated parameters rescale database Mylar.

15 صفحه اولSynthesis of atomically thin hexagonal boron nitride films on nickel foils by molecular beam epitaxy
Hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) is a layered two-dimensional material with properties that make it promising as a dielectric in various applications. We report the growth of h-BN films on Ni foils from elemental B and N using molecular beam epitaxy. The presence of crystalline h-BN over the entire substrate is confirmed by Raman spectroscopy. Atomic force microscopy is used to examine the morpho...
متن کاملVelocity fluctuations of fission fragments
We propose event by event velocity fluctuations of nuclear fission fragments as an additional interesting observable that gives access to the nuclear temperature in an independent way from spectral measurements and relates the diffusion and friction coefficients for the relative fragment coordinate in Kramer-like models (in which some aspects of fission can be understood as the diffusion of a c...
متن کاملLong - Range Fission Fragments from Radiogemc Lead ?
Fission tracks with a range 19% longer than tracks produced by uranium fission fragments were observed on mylar foils after a three year underground (100 m w. e.) exposure to 3600 cm2 of radlogemc lead. Ordinary lead which was simultaneously exposed to mylar foils under the same conditions yielded a background effect of only 3% of the effect from radiogenic lead. The observed long-range tracks ...
